Holiday Inn Portsmouth an IHG Hotel

  : We had a late check in and the staff were very nice and helpful. Check in was easy. They have a bar that stays open until 11am. They have the pool which is indoors which is nice as well bc if you haven't experience ld the ocean water in Maine or NH you will appreciate the pool. However, the hallways and the elevator had an unbearable strong smell; it literally smelled like burnt rubber or some of the sort. At first I thought it was just near the elevator in the lobby but as we got to our floor it hit us hard. Powerful smell. The next morning same thing. I'm not sure what the smell is but it is not pleasant. The bed is comfortable. But the pillows… i woke up with a severe kink in my neck. The bathroom was nice and clean. No issues with the room and the smell from the hallway did not linger into the room, thankfully.
