  : Kept my room maintained, air conditioning made it comfortable, had hangers to hang my clothes, had a TV to watch so that I could wind down.
  : The TV didn't have enough channels. The bathroom shower didn't have a wall to keep the water from getting all over the floor. The room didn't have a mini-fridge or microwave. However, they did have a microwave and an ice machine on the floor above me, so it was more of an inconvenience than a problem. The shutters didn't work right so I couldn't provide myself with more privacy.

  : The hotel is in a decent location, like most placed in NYC, it has good proximity to subway lines. The rooms are nice with good water pressure and very clean. The blockout blinds were great for blocking morning sun.
  : We had a really bad experience with a checkout. We had three rooms booked, with one room checking out after two days and the other two staying longer. For some reason, when the two day room keys were handed back, the staff checked out one of our other rooms as well. When the two people staying in that room returned they were told they had been checked out. So began a 45 minute proof of booking process requiring me to come back from across town. Despite clearly showing our booking credentials (including a confirmation email from the hotel itself!) at no point did the staff member take responsibility for the checkout error, despite causing a lot of distress to my friends. In fact, they tried to insinuate it was our fault. To be clear - all my friends did was hand back their keys (to the same room) and leave. I'm OK with people making mistakes - what was infuriating was that the refusal to take any responsibility for the stuff up.The error was finally resolved and the room reallocated - but then the keys didn't work! We asked for a late checkout to compensate for being stuffed around and was told we could have one - but when I checked the next day it wasn't in the system.To compound all of the above, during out entire stay only one lift was working. They had an attendant that would override the lift and you'd be left waiting for ages just trying to leave your floor. In the end I just took the stairs - 20+ floors of stairs - whenever I needed to leave the hotel.Finally, on the day the rest of our group departed we left our luggage in the 'secure' storage area. When we came back to collect the luggage, the front desk was busy so we literally helped ourselves to the baggage so we could leave and grab our taxi to the airport. No-one was watching it - no-one asked us for our bag tags. Anyone could have just walked in and taken them.As an Accor member that decided to try IHG, I'd be surprised if I ever use a Holiday Inn again.

  : The staff was very friendly. I’ve stayed here a few times but I can tell they are making improvements.
  : The elevator situation is not acceptable. Having one working elevator then putting a sign up with instructions and almost making you feel bad because they gave you a “premium bag” with chips, chocolate, and two waters….come on.
