Other galleries showcase topics such as pathology, mental health treatment, nursing education, and women's health care. Despite being rooted in history, some exhibits focus on current trends such as obesity or alternative treatments.
In addition to its permanent collections, the museum also hosts temporary exhibitions such as “Flesh & Blood: The Human Body Revealed” which uses touchable organs to illustrate how the human body works or “Indiana Born Doctors Who Changed Medicine Worldwide” which highlights five native Hoosiers who helped advance modern medicine through their research and discoveries. The museum also offers educational programs for adults as well as hands-on activities for children including a scavenger hunt through its galleries.
