  : The price really could have been lower than it was for what we got, but it wasn't expensive so that was good. It was close to the place we were going to on this trip so location was decent. Room had microwave and refrigerator for which I was thankful.
  : First there is nothing grand about this hotel. Old is an understatement. Didn't feel the premises were secure at all. Side door was always held open by trash can. Hallways were hot and on my floor hallways wreaked of smoke though my room was non-smoking. The staff at least was okay when present. The having to ring the bell for service is not exactly my idea of excellent customer service. Furniture was definitely outdated and badly worn. My biggest issue was the toilet seat that looked very dirty and had what appeared to be a cigarette burn. It flushed extremely slow. To top it off only one ice maker and that was broke. Elevator worked but also was nasty and sounded like it was on its last leg. I clearly had the unrenovated room. Never met Sheri but her responding to every interview certainly worked to get me here. I certainly agree don't spend money on breakfast, would be best spent on finishing the renovations.

  : Great value for the price point. We were looking for a cheap one night stay and Spindletop was a good value that met my expectations. Facility looks like it used to flourish in the 90s as it has an event center; now, building and amentities are a little dated and some areas needed upgrades/remodeling but it still looked nice to me.Staff was friendly, we got upgraded at check-in to a room with a hot tub, so that was fun! Also, liked how they seemed to watch the cameras closely and asked for vehicle make/model/LP at check-in.
  : Did not like the location as much... I personally did not have any issues while there and would stay again... but, for other guests, if you are not used to staying in an area with lots of foot traffic and homeless people, this is not the location for you.
