  : Location to the black and green sand beaches were awesome, it is also very close to the volcanoes. It is a well restored plantation house with perfect breezes all day and night. I loved sitting on the front porch. It was very comfortable and simple.. we loved it. It had a ton of space with our family of four adults and very clean.
  : Unfortunately, in the middle of nowhere on a plantation meant that we got a critter visit in the middle of the night. Shame on me for not putting all the food away in cupboards. There is only a small market in town of Pahala closes at 7. The closest restaurant is about 15 minutes away, but be early if you want a good meal. Pahala is not a touristy town, it’s legitimately in the middle of nowhere. Which was a fantastic find for my family, we enjoyed it immensely.

  : This is not a review of the Maile House as the host called the day before arrival and told me that the Maile House had been "taken out of service". Instead we were placed in a duplex that was infested with ants that ruined all the food we brought, had no air conditioning in the bedrooms in 80+ degree (27C) weather, and was adjacent to a property with dogs that barked and roosters that crowed throughout the night making restful seep impossible. This is the most negative review I've ever written about anything in my life but given how awful this place was and that my wife didn't speak to me the remainder of our trip to Hawaii ruining my trip, it's well deserved.

  : Very quiet, close to volcanoes national park, it was nice drinking coffee in the morning on the porch. Nice flowers around the house.
  : The refrigerator door was stained and the kitchen curtains. There were stains and hairs on the bed sheets.
